It’s turkey time!  As usual the things for the holiday are on a nice sale and in some cases you don’t need to shop around.

As always these are sales for the Northern Colorado area.  Lots of stores run national sales though, so except for meat and milk everything else usually sticks.  If you’re curious about your store simply click below on the store name and enter your zip code for your own circular.

My Meal Plan:

  1. Apricot Stuffed Pork Roast — I’m re-doing this from last week since I made the recipe up on the spot and while tasty, it wasn’t gorgeous. It was very delicious, though.  Cheap pork loin stuffed with slightly sweet apricots and cranberries.
  2. Cross Rib Roast — it’s rare that I make this cut of meat, but it’s on sale.  It’s similar to prime rib (you’re going to overcook the outside a little and be left with true medium rare) but isn’t as tender.  I think I’ll coat it in garlic and make a mushroom and wine gravy.

Turkey day is upon us, what are you making? I’m thinking about going uber traditional this year (orange scented turkey, grand soft whipped potatoes, roasted yams, beautiful over roasted brussels sprouts, pumpkin pie — you know).
