It has been a busy few weeks so I haven’t been able to update at a pace that I’d like.  I’ve got some backups, though, and will post those soon I promise!

As always these are sales for the Northern Colorado area.  Lots of stores run national sales though, so except for meat and milk everything else usually sticks.  If you’re curious about your store simply click below on the store name and enter your zip code for your own circular.

Safeway:

  • Betty Crocker Cake or Brownie Mix – $.99, limit 4, need the coupon from the paper at the front of the store
  • Snack Packs – $1
  • Thomas English Muffin – 2/$5
  • General Mills Cereal – $1.99, same thing with coupon
  • Pork Loin Chops – $1.99, great deal if bone out, good deal if bone in
  • 7 Bone Chuck Steak – $2.99/lb, lowest this gets all year, I use it as a backup pot roast
  • Frozen Things – if you buy $15 in frozen items, save $5
  • Totino’s frozen pizzas – 5/$5
  • Jumbo Raw Shrimp – $6.99/lb (pretty good deal)

King Soopers:

  • Palisade peaches – $.99/lb
  • Ground Chuck – $2.99/lb (great deal)
  • Avocados – 10/$10
  • Gallon Milk – $1.97
  • Boneless/Skinless Chicken Breasts – $1.99/lb (pretty dang low)

Sunflower:

  • Blueberries – 2/$3
  • Red/Green Seedless Grapes – $.99/lb
  • Boneless Center Cut Pork Loin or Chops – $1.99/lb (great deal)
  • Boneless/Skinless Chicken Breasts – $1.99/lb

Sprouts:

  • Blueberries – 2/$3
  • Red/Green Seedless Grapes – $.99/lb
  • Boneless Center Cut Pork Loin or Chops – $1.99/lb (great deal)
  • Boneless/Skinless Chicken Breasts – $1.99/lb

My Meal Plan:

  1.  Shrimp, Dill and Orzo Pasta Salad – after so many requests for this at a baby shower I helped host last week I’ll do this one again.  It’s a simple side dish without the shrimp, but a gorgeous main with.  I like to make it and leave it for the boyfriend for the week.  And I’ll do it because…I forgot to last week.
  2. Chicken Satay — I have the pictures ready for a post of this too.  It comes with the best peanut sauce and coconut rice.
  3. Sausage, bell pepper, broccoli and white wine penne – another terrific America’s Test Kitchen recipe.  It’s a one skillet, toast the pasta in the pan then cook it affair.  The browned sausage and white wine make this beautiful rich but light sauce.  It’s a miracle.
  4. Shepherd’s Pie — I’ll actually make cottage pie (cottage is made with beef, shepherd’s is made with lamb) but with that ground chuck on sale I’ll take advantage.
